Designer: Max and LubovAzria
Inspiration: It’s no secret that an overwhelming majority of the Hervé Leger runway will comprise a bandage dress in body-conscious form. But, bandaged and body-con doesn’t have to come with the exposure of too much skin. With cropped matador jackets, a trouser, and longer hemlines, the Azrias left plenty to the imagination. As for the overall theme—and palette—Lubov Azria referenced the stained glass windows of the Basilica de la Sagrada Familia by Antoni Gaudi: Nativity, Passion, and Glory, “which signify the concepts of birth, sacrifice, and toil in human nature.”
Trends: jacquards, studs, weaving, glass beading, leather appliqués, harnesses, and all body-conscious everything (of course!)
Palette: white, grey, blue, yellow, teal, sapphire, vermillion, and fuschia
Who was there: Lala Anthony, Michelle Rodriguez, Petra Nemcova
Who should wear it: Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner, girls who’ve got it and want to flaunt it
The playlist: “The Alchemist,” “Fell Me Heaven,” and “Epur Si Muove (Tocadisco Remix)” by Enigma
